Healthy Tip: Eat Smart When Eating Out, Go “Halfsies”
Self-control is really difficult at restaurants where portions are ginormous and food is deliciously laden with salt, fat, and sugar.
To help take the “self” out of self-control, physically give yourself access to only half your food, or “Go Halfsies!”
There are several ways to “Go Halfsies”:
1) Share a meal with a friend
2) Ask a waiter for a to-go box and immediately separate your food in half and put into the container and put it out of sight
3) Ask the waiter to put half the food in the box before you even get it and thank them with a nice tip
All three options also save you money because you are either paying half price or getting two meals for the price of one!
